Lucknow: The high court on Aug 11 gave green signal to the district administration and Municipal Corporation in connection with demolition work near Bhopal House in Lalbagh as it disposed a writ petition challenging the said act of state authorities. A bench of Justice UN Singh and Justice Satish Chandra further directed the district magistrate and DIG to give proper assistance in the work.
Advocate general Jyotindra Mishra and chief standing counsel Devendra Upadhyay refuted the apprehension that the government wanted to construct a park on the road. The petitioner, Alliance Automobiles Pvt Ltd. and others had said that the state authorities demolished the road in front of Bhopal House and wanted to develop the area as a park. The petitioners said that the act of state authorities caused hindrance in their business activities. The court expressed strong view against encroachment on the said road.
