HC intervenes to solve Delhi's water woes

New Delhi : Expressing concern over inadequate water supply to various places in the city, the Delhi high court on Aug 11 directed the chief secretary to convene a meeting with departments concerned to sort out the problem.

A division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Manmohan directed chief secretary of Delhi to convene the meeting with Delhi Jal Board, NDMC, MCD, DDA and Delhi Cantonment within 15 days to make a complete plan to ensure adequate supply of water in all areas in the city. ''A man can live without food for a week but it is difficult to sustain without water for three days,'' the bench said.
