 Gulshan Grover is all set to play antagonist Adil Shah in renowned Marathi filmmaker Vinay Apte's film based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
And if things go according to Vinay's plans, Amitabh Bachchan will play Shahaji Bhonsle, the father of the legendary King, Shivaji. As it is known, the hunt for a newcomer to play Shivaji Maharaj is on. But unlike how the King has been portrayed till today, in Vinay's film, the great Maratha warrior will be a 6-pack, bare-chested, all muscular man.
"The research team believes that Shivaji Maharaj who was forever riding horses and spent years fighting on the battlefield must have been quite muscular. In this film, he will also be shown as this 5.8 feet tall man instead of 5.4 ft as is widely believed," said Gulshan about the film that's supported by Shivaji Maharaj's descendant Malojiraje. It's going to go on the floors in October for which a set will be erected at a film studio in Karjat.
This is not the only film that's being made on the great Maratha King. Filmmaker Soham Shah too is directing one and according sources, Sanjay Dutt's going to essay the role of Shivaji. This had sparked off a debate as people were not in favour of Dutt, who was booked under TADA for his involvement in Mumbai blasts, to play the Maratha King.
