Varanasi: The city is ready to host the Shrawan month festivities commencing from July 27. Clad in saffron, kanwariyas started thronging city from different places since July 26.
The local administration has geared up to take all possible measures for the convenience of kanwariyas and devotees. During the auspicious Shrawan month lakhs of devotees and kanwariyas visit the city to offer prayer at Kashi Vishwanath Temple and other Shiva temples in city and adjoining areas.
The district administration has sensitised the departments like PWD, municipal corporation, Jal Sansthan, Jal Nigam and electricity to make proper arrangements. Besides the local administration, several voluntary and social organisations have also come forward to help the devotees and kanwariyas during their stay in city.
