The festival of Shab-e-Barat was observed with religious enthusiasm by Muslims throughout the country on July 27th night. People flocked mosques to offer night-long prayers to seek Allah Almighty's blessing on this occasion.
In Uttar Pradesh, mosques were nicely decorated at most of the places including Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Mau, Azamgarh, Bareli, Moradabad, Aligarh, Meerut, Rampur and Badaun districts. It is general belief of Muslim community that Allah Almighty showers infinite mercy and blessing upon human beings on the night of Shab-e-Barat. Religious scholars delivered religious discourses highlighting the various aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet. Shab-e-Baraat is the 15th day of the Muslim month of Shaban which comes before Ramzan.
