Hyderabad : In a bid to expand its footprint across India, Hyderabad-based GreenPark Hotels plans to expand through management contract route. Currently, GreenPark Hotel operates four-star hotels in Hyderabad, Chennai and Visakhapatnam and plans are afoot to open its first five-star hotel in Hyderabad by January 2011. In addition, the Group will set up properties in Bengaluru and Pune. The Group is looking for tie-ups with potential owners to manage the properties.

K Mohan Krishna, Vice President Operations, GreenPark Hotels said, "With 18 years of expertise in the hospitality industry and a dedicated team of professionals in different departments of the hotel, we are looking forward to take up management contracts and share our years of experience to run properties for the owners. However, we would take up the projects depending upon the standards of the hotel and number of keys (minimum 100 keys), since we do not want to dilute the GreenPark Hotels brand."

Furthermore, Krishna stated, "We aimed to first own and operate four hotels and then start with management contracts. As the fourth property will be operational by January 2011, we will go ahead with management tie-ups. We would like to establish ourselves in the South Indian market and then look at expanding in North India. However, if the opportunity arises, we are open to take up the project."

Elaborating on the upcoming project in Hyderabad, Krishna said, "We will be opening the fourth property at Begumpet in Hyderabad. This property will be adjacent to the existing GreenPark Hyderabad. With 195 rooms, 20,000sq ft of banquet area, a Pan Asian restaurant, coffee shop, swimming pool, gymnasium, bar, spa and rooftop barbeque, the upcoming hotel will cater to MICE, business, corporate and leisure clientele. The investment for the project is Rs 65 crore."

However, the USP of the property would be its parking area. The hotel will have parking space for 400 cars. Krishna believes that with guests coming up for meetings, conferences and functions at the hotel, it is paramount to provide comfortable parking space to our clients.
