 In Uttar Pradesh, huge rush of devotees are being seen at shiva temples on the occasion of Sawan Puja. The main sawan Puja is being organised in Varanasi on Aug 2.
Thousands of devotees offered prayers to Lord Shiva at Kashi Vishwanath temple today on the first Monday of the Shrawan month. The Police said, that about fourty thousand people including large number of Kanwarias had reached Kashi Vishwanath temple by noon. Elaborate security arrangements have been made around the main temples and in the city the DIG police said.
In Varanasi, a festive mood is seen everywhere and many worship and offerings are taking place. In several areas community worship programme is also being held. Special Rudrabhishek pujas are organised in various temples on this occasion. The Vammargi's are also offering their tantrik rituals to Lord Shiva on Aug 2.
In Allahabad, a large number of people took a holy bath at Sangam this morning before offerning pujas in various shiva temples. Rush of Kanwarias and pilgrims are mainly reaching at Mankameshwar temple, Padilamahadev and Nagasaki temples for ritual ceremonies.
In Jharkhand, the world famous Lord Baidyanath Dham temple of Deoghar is one of the 12 reverred Jyotirling of Lord Shiva where lakhs of devotees are offering water from holy Ganga in the ongoing month of Shravan. The State Government has made necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the journey of 'Kanwars'.
