Clarks Exotica Bengaluru to add 53 rooms within September 2011

Mumbai : Bengaluru-based Clarks Exotica; a five-star luxury property promoted by Colaco Group is on an expansion drive. The property is going to build an additional wing in the hotel consisting of 53 rooms, lobby and a coffee shop with a cost of Rs 30 crore by September 2011.

Currently, the property houses 95 rooms (16 Executive rooms, four basic deluxe, 14 deluxe premium, 14 executive premium, one junior suite, one presidential suite and 45 villas) along with a restaurant - Blue Alps, a bar - Illusion, banquet halls, etc. Being at close proximity from Bengaluru International Airport Ltd; the property receives both leisure and business travellers along with transit passengers.

Divulging the details, Vivek Vinod, General Manager, Clarks Exotica Bengaluru said, "In 2008, we launched the property with 21 rooms and received good occupancy levels. In 2009, we added more 74 rooms to meet the rising demands. However, with increasing number of domestic and international flight connections to Bengaluru, we are receiving good occupancy levels and are in process of adding 53 rooms to the property." The hotel is receiving good traffic over the weekends and from wedding events. Thus, to meet the increased demand, the property has rented 45 villas in close vicinity of the property for two years i.e. till 2011. Once the new wing is operational, the hotel will remove villa facilities from its offerings.

Talking about the marketing strategies, Vinod said, "Over the years, we have been an airport hotel, but with increasing number of weekend travellers; we are going to portray ourselves as 'Destination resort'. We are looking at increasing the awareness of our property in domestic market among leisure travellers. We are going to launch various offers and packages to attract leisure travellers."
