 Not many know that Bharatanatyam dancer, Geeta Chandran was a student of Lady Shri Ram College where she studied Mathematical Statistics.
From stats to dance, that's quite a transition, isn't it? "Not for me," says Geeta, adding, "I was very active in the music and dance societies of my college. Fests were a big thing then and we had limited resources, so it was quite a big thing to go to these fests. Otherwise, we used to spend our time in each others places, hanging out, just talking about stuff and all. Today, that seems to have taken a backseat and partying is the 'in' thing."
And what else does she think has changed? "When I was in college, things weren't done with keeping stakes in mind. People were not obsessed with their careers and jobs. My college allowed students to be themselves, to explore and gain," she says, adding "It helped us explore the power of women."
