Shillong: BSF personnel seized about 500 grams of brown sugar, worth Rs 50 lakh, from two suspected smugglers along the Indo-Bangla border in Meghalaya.
Acting on a tip-off, the two smugglers were caught near Baghmara while they were trying to cross over to Bangladesh yesterday, BSF sources said on Jun 13.
The apprehended persons were identified as Tainat Sangma and Leondra Ch Sangma.
The seized drugs worth around Rs 50 lakh and according to label in the packet, it was produced in Thailand.
