Visakhapatnam: Andhra University (AU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Group T University College, Belgium here in the areas of engineering and technical education.
Speaking on the occasion at Andhra University, Prof B Satyanarayana, Vice-Chancellor, AU on Jun 8 said 50-year-old Group T University was surrounded by international industries.
He said a MoU was an agreement between the two universities for conducting a twinning programme in electro mechanical engineering leading to a B Tech degree from Andhra University and a B Engineering from Group T University. Prof Satyanarayan said in this four-year programme, two years of study would be done at AU and further two years at Group T University, Belgium. During the study, students have an opportunity to work one hour daily in multinational companies and they would be paid 10 Euro dollars per hour, he added.
Prof Guido Vercamann of Group T University said the twinning programme would give an opportunity for good education along with values of two different cultures to produce world class engineers for global industries.
Prof Srinivas of Group T University, AU Registrar P V G D Prasad Reddy, K Viswanath Advisor of International Studies were present on the occasion. The Belgian team have already visited the AU Engineering Colleges and various departments and labs and expressed satisfaction over the infrastructure and facilities provided to the students.
