Visakhapatnam: Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) General Secretary Tapan Sen on Jun 4 said the All India Central Trade Unions' convention against price rise will be held on July 15 in Delhi.
Mr Sen said AICTU would also observe one-day strike against the same and the date would be finalised in the convention Addressing a press conference here, he said five concrete points, including price rise of essential commodities, and Public Distribution System (PDS) would be taken up.
The CITU's initiative was to struggle for implementing experienced trade union movement in the country and ensure concrete proactive measures were taken for employment protection in the recession-stricken sectors along with the stimulus package being offered to the concerned entrepreneurs.
He demanded strict enforcement of all basic labour laws without any exception or exemption and stringent punitive measures for violation of labour laws. Steps must be taken for removal of all restrictive provisions based on poverty line in respect to eligibility of coverage of the schemes under the Unorganized Workers Social Security Act 2008 and Creation of National Social Security Fund (NSSF) to provide for a National Floor Level Social Security to all Unorganized Sector workers including the Contract and Casual Workers in line with the Recommendation of NCEUS and Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour.
He further said more than nine Central Trade Unions would be participate in the July 15 Convention at Delhi, including BMS, INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, AICCTU, UTUC and TUCC.
