Visakhapatnam: Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy Memorial 4th National Beach Football championship for Men and Women in the port city will be held here from June 26 to 28 at Rama Krishna beach.
President of the Organizing Committee M Vijaya Prasad on Jun 7 said the Beach Football Federation of India (BFFI) had also allowed for the three-day mega event in which 12 Men and Eight Women teams consisting of International footballers would participate.
For the first time port city is to host the flood light matches for these three days from 1600 hrs to 2200 hrs in the enchanting climatic conditions at the Beach.
The Organising Committee Secretary S Appa Rao said all facilities including medical help would be provided to the participants.
The Beach Football game is recognized by International Beach Football Association and three World Cup matches had already been played. More than 170 countries are participating in the Beach Football international matches, he added.
