 Saharasri Subrata Roy Sahara has every reason to look pleased. He's got Team India batsman and off-break bowler Suresh Raina to join the Sahara India Pariwar - a champion promoter of cricket in the country.
At a glittering ceremony held recently at the Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai, Raina was inducted into the Pariwar by the Managing Worker and Chairman himself, and honoured with a Honda Accord car for his outstanding performances and his new responsibility as captain of the Indian cricket team for the Zimbabwe tour.
Raina, who was the third-highest scorer in IPL 3 and also the Man of the Match in the final, at age 24, becomes one of the youngest and newest 'workers' of the nine-lakh-strong Sahara India Pariwar.
While asking the Ghaziabad, UP, cricketer to communicate his best wishes to Team India, Saharasri said, "I am happy to have Raina as a part of our Pariwar. He is very near to us and now he has become a member of our family. More than an excellent cricketer, I know him as a very good human being which also shows in his cricket. He has gone through many struggles. With his dedication and perseverance, he has overcome them and has also grown as a player."
