 Raipur : Senior police officials from across the country will participate in the three-day Science Congress beginning on June 2 and discuss issues like terrorism, Naxalism, modernisation of the force and data management here.
The 40th All India Police Science Congress will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, Chhattisgarh DGP Vishwaranjan told reporters here on June 1.
Terrorism has become a global menace and India is facing an additional threat in the form of left-wing extremism. In this backdrop, participants at the Congress are likely to thoroughly discuss these issues and suggest ways to effectively counter them, he said.
Chidambaram will hold a meeting with Chief Minister Raman Singh, Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar and senior government officials on June 2 at the state secretariat, official sources said.
