 Raipur: Chhattisgarh BJP election committee has suggested senior tribal leader Nand Kumar Sai's name for Rajya Sabha candidate, party sources said on May 24.
Party's media relations officer Rasik Pramar told reporters that party's state election committee, in a meeting here, unanimously resolved that Sai should be projected as Rajya Sabha candidate from the state.
The recommendation has been forwarded to party's central election committee, he said.
The state has five Rajya Sabha seats out of which ruling BJP and main Opposition Congress has three and two seats respectively. The elections for Rajya Sabha members would be held on June 17.
