Itanagar: A cave with nine chambers was discovered on May 18th last on a slope beside the Seppa-Sagalle tri-junction road in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The site, one kilometre off from the road, has become the attraction for curious visitors, sources informed here today. According to people residing in close proximity to the site, the cave was initially discovered by six people while they were following a snake that stayed inside the cave. The big rooms inside the cave measure about 6-11 feet in height while the small rooms measure 2-4 feet.
A number of people had gone inside the cave and according to them the paths between the two holes are small. On the basis of the walls of the rooms, it would not be wrong to conclude that the holes are not living beings creations. Rather, these have been shaped out of the pressure of the water in order to make its course to outlet.
This is evident from the debris of the rock found outside the entrance of the cave. However, on the basis of shape and size of the holes, it can be ascertained that the caves are not an outcome of the days, months or years but of the decades, sources added.
