Visakhapatnam : The abolition of the Executive Councils (ECs), the top decision making bodies in Andhra, Osmania and eight other universities in the state has been justified by the Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development (HRD), D. Purandeswari.
She was asked for her opinion by reporters on the order issued by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, E.S.L. Narasimhan recently.
"As far as the information I have received goes, the term of most of the ECs had either already expired or was on the verge of it. I just hope that the creation of new ECs would be at the earliest and would mean that all stakeholders will also be given representation," she was stated as saying.
