Dehradun : Uttarakhand Cabinet on Apr 22 decided to set up a new corporation for power generation in the state.
The corporation would be a subsidiary of the state Irrigation Department, said Chief Secretary N S Napalchyal briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
However, modalities regarding the structure of the corporation would be decided later, he said. The corporation would develop 70 Mw Arakot-Tuyni and 66 Mw Tuyni-Palasu projects, he added.
In another decision, the Cabinet also decided to send a request to the Centre to provide Rs 200 cr as grant under National land records modernisation programme to Uttarakhand, Napalchyal said.
