Kohima : The six-hour shutdown called by the Opposition Congress in Nagaland to protest against alleged corruption, nepotism and gross irregularities in several sectors in the Neiphiu Rio-led DAN government crippled normal life in Nagaland on March 20, officials said.
The shutdown, which began at six am, forced closure of offices, banks, post offices and other establishments across the state. However, there was no untoward incident reported from anywhere in the state and work resumed after the end of the shut down, they said.
The Opposition Congress has alleged that there were gross irregularities in appointments of school teachers and misuse of central funds for various rural development schemes, including NREGA, in the state.
