Well, the verdict is out and the two teams to reach the finale of Star Plus' Music ka Maha Muqqabla are Shaan's Strikers and Shankar's Rockstars.
The show started with six teams headed by Shaan, Shankar Mahadevan, Himesh Reshamiya, Shreya Ghoshal, Mika and Mohit Chauhan. Mika and Mohit were the first two teams to get the boot while the others reached the semi-finals. Now Shaan and Shankar will slug it out in the finale. The pre-finale will take place on Sunday, March 14.
The concept of this round was to dedicate songs to the mentors by singing their songs. Each team selected a set of songs sung by the mentors and presented it in a different style. So Shreya's Superstars sang Shankar's numbers, Himesh's Warriors dedicated a medley to Shaan, Shankar's Rockstars to Himesh and Shaan Strikers to Shreya. It was for the second time that Himesh got emotional on the show when Rahul Vaidya from Shankar's team sang Aashiq banaya aapne. Himesh started dancing with Shaan and Shreya joining him. His eyes welled up and Shaan too couldn't control his emotions when Himesh sang for him. Mika and Mohit cheered the mentors and added fun with their witty comments.
