New Delhi : Defying the action by Rajya Sabha, its seven members who were on Mar 9 suspended for their unruly behaviour yesterday over the Women's Bill refused to leave the House and remained squatted in the well for over two hours.
The members, who were suspended for the entire Budget session at 12 noon, virtually staged a dharna in the well even after the House was adjourned. They continued to stay put even when the House reassembled at 2 PM forcing another adjournment till 3 PM. Though Rajniti Prasad (RJD) was not named by Chairman Hamid Ansari, he too joined the suspended members and sat along with them, leaving the security staff in a dilemma on how to handle the situation.
The frequent adjournments left members of the BJP, which is supporting the Women's Bill, irritated.
