Mumbai : Mentha oil futures shed over 1% losses towards the end of trading on Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on March 12 as selling pressure donned trading. It failed to escape out of bear grips under heavy selling.
March contract closed at Rs 618.20 a kg, down Rs 7.20 or 1% and fluctuated between Rs 623.90- 614.10 a kg. The April contract receded by Rs 5.10 at Rs 613.50 a kg and moved between Rs 620.50-612 a kg. Volumes in the March and April contracts totalled 1,570 and 473 lots respectively.
On March 10th, total stock of mentha oil at MCX-monitored warehouses at Chandausi was 826,666 kg of which 792,847 kg is physical stock and 33,819 is the demat stock. At Barabanki, the total stock was 1382974 kg of which physical stock accounted for 1372894 and demats stock was 10,080 kg.
