New Delhi: Devotees of Sri Venkateswara will have a chance to be a part of the Kalyana Mahotsavam - the symbolic celestial wedding of Sri Venkateswara and his consorts Laxmi and Padmavati - at Sri Venkateswara College in Dhaula Kuan on March 21.
The idols of Sri Venkateswara and his consorts will be carried all the way from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. About 40 priests are expected to escort these idols from Tirupati in a special ratham (chariot). The main ceremony will begin on March 21 with Annamacharya Puja from 4pm to 5pm. It will be followed by Kalyana Mahotsavam puja. "The Lord is coming to bless his devotees as there are a lot of aged people here who cannot make it to Tirupati," said convener of Kalyana Mahotsavam.
