New Delhi : The Kerala High Court issued a notice to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on March 4, 2010, as per the Contempt of Court Case filed by IATA Agents Association of India (IAAI) on February 8, 2010 under reference of Kerala High Court no: 186/2010, against Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA); DGCA and 16 zero commission airlines.
This notice has been issued to DGCA in order to seek reasons for failing to enforce the national law concerning commission for travel agents, the directive which was passed by the Kerala High Court on July 13, 2009. As per sources, the Kerala High Court has given a period of ten days to DGCA to revert back stating reasons for the same, failing which DGCA will have to face further judiciary measures.
