New Delhi : Ride-on scrubber and jetting-cum-suction machine are some of the latest cleaning equipment being acquired by railways to keep stations and tracks in the Capital spic-and-span ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
As part of a major cleanliness drive being launched at New Delhi, Nizamuddin and Old Delhi station, 12 state-of-the-art cleaning tools like ride-on-road sweeping machine, walk behind sweeping machine and wet and dry vacuum cleaner are going to be pressed into service.
"We are making efforts to make all stations of Delhi very clean. Apart from stations, we are also making a concerted effort to keep the tracks clear of garbage, Divisional Railway Manager Aswani Lohani told reporters. He said the result will be visible in the next few months in Delhi and definitely before the Commonwealth Games.
