Kolkata : A day after Bengalis celebrated Dol Yatra, the mainly non-Bengali population in West Bengal marked Holi with the usual gusto and enthusiasm. Reports from across the city and elsewhere spoke of people celebrating the festival of colours with songs, dances and thandai, a drink made during Holi.
Many visited houses of neighbours and friends, hurling water balloons and smearing 'gulal' colour powder. The festival is a marriage of north Indian and Bengali cultures in Kolkata.
