Mumbai : According to a report, Singapore-based Low Cost Carrier Tiger Airways is set to fly to Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi in Kerala and Trichy in Tamil Nadu. Tony Davies, President and Chief Executive Officer, Tiger Airways said, "India is a natural consideration for us to expand our low-fare offerings.
We have had numerous requests from passengers to fly to more Indian destinations; with this encouragement, we plan to commence discussions with the airports and authorities."
Tiger Airways currently serves two destinations in South India from Singapore, operating 11-weekly flights to Chennai and five to Bengaluru. With its aircraft enjoying full loads, Tiger Airways business strategy would see increasing flights in the coming months in Asia, including Australia. Davies mentioned that Tiger Airways has sold more number of seats and this would translate into further lowering for airfares in the region.
