Shakti Anand's comeback to television

Shakti Anand

Shakti Anand will be seen playing a loving, supporting and very caring husband in Sony's upcoming show Godh Bharai. In the times when television is getting younger and fresher by the day, he is lucky enough to bag a lead role in the show along with Pallavi Subhash.

Shakti made his debut with one of the longest running saas bahu sagas Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, but he quit the show after two years of its telecast. He was the first one from the show who was offered a movie opposite Sonali Bendre and Isha Kopikkar. He left the show to concentrate on his movie, but after completing half the film it was shelved.

He returned to TV again, but then he got another movie from AB Corporation Limited called Ghar-Ondha. The movie is on a social issue about how a middle class common man is cheated by a builder for his dream house. The shooting got completed in 2009, but is stuck again and Shakti just hopes that the movie hit theatres soon.

He says, "I think I am just not made for films. My first movie got shelved; the second one is stuck due to recession. Sai and I shot for it long time back and it was all set to release last summer. But the multiplex strike happened and a lot of other films released back to back. Ghar-Ondha was pushed to another date, but now that AB Corp has got a good financial back up after Paa, I think the movie will release soon."

He adds, "The third movie I was to start got shelved too. I didn't think twice and returned to TV with Bhaskar Bharti. Now I am doing a lead role in Godh Bharai. I have complete faith in the producers of the show and I am sure it will offer something new to the viewers."
