General Motors India has launched an automatic transmission variant of its recently launched D-segment sedan, the Cruze. The Cruze AT will come with a six-speed automatic gearbox and will be offered only on the fully loaded LTZ version that comes fitted with other bells-n-whistles like the passive keyless entry, push button start and electric sunroof
Priced at Rs 13.54 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the newly added auto-box is expected to take the car square into the territory of the Skoda Laura, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis, all of which are currently available with automatic gearbox variants
Speaking at the launch, P.Balendran, Vice President, General Motors India said "The Cruze is all about value, refinement and power-packed diesel performance combined with an array of unique features. And with the Automatic transmission option the Cruze offers everything any discerning Indian car buyer could want in a Sedan at a price point that represents incontestable value for money".
The Cruze AT also has a triptronic mode for a sportier drive, besides a clutch-to-clutch shift to induce smoother gear changes. The Automatic variant will also be available in a special 3 coat paint called White Diamond in addition to the six colours already on offer.
