The new-style ipad, the touch-screen, tablet-style computer, by Apple, will be launched sometime later in March, though Apple has not confirmed its release date.
The Wi-Fi only version of the device is expected to be on sale on 26 March. The Wi-Fi and 3G model would come out around around a month later, according to a report. Apple website MacRumours let out that a company source claimed the iPad would go on sale at 6pm on 26 March. The first buyers of the device will also receive a "special gift". Most probably the iPads will start arriving in Apple stores by the middle of next week, to familiarise employees with the device. Apple's advertising campaign for the iPad will kick off on 15 March.
Due to problems at Apple's manufacturing plant, the device could be in short supply, warn analysts. Peter Misek, a Canaccord Adams analyst says that a "bottleneck" had affected production. The entry-level, Wi-Fi only iPad will cost about £389 in the UK market. American buyers will have to pay $499 for the device.
