New Delhi : Cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, The South Asian Network of Goethe-Institute, has declared to provide fully funded annual fellowship in Arts Management and Cultural Policy.

Starting March 15, 2010, the first edition of 'A. R. Think South Asia Fellowship' that includes a fortnight-long residential course at Manesar has 17 men and women selected from across South Asia. Giving this fellowship a unique character is the interaction of the chosen scholars with international tutors on home ground before their participation in a month-long internship in Germany.

The fellowship programme will end with a concluding seminar in March 2011. Giving the chosen scholars a platform to hone their skills, knowledge and networks and gain experience of potential leaders in the cultural sector of South Asia as well as of visual and performing arts and digital media, the fellowship aims to provide them with the confidence to move further.

Goethe-Institute/ Max Mueller Bhavan Regional Director for South Asia Stefan Dreyer says that, "By supporting extraordinary persons who have the potential to make a change in their skills and career potential and bring substantial benefit to the cultural field as a whole we are heading towards fulfilling our objective." Balancing theory and professional training, the residential course at Manesar is designed to include five to six modules consisting of latest thinking in cultural management in areas such as strategic planning, project management, strategic finance and fund-raising, marketing, communication and Internet technologies.
