 Mumbai : According to a report, in a bid to boost Adventure Tourism in Sikkim, the Department of Tourism of Government of Sikkim has introduced commercial paragliding flights. S S Bhadauria, Tourism Secretary, Sikkim said with the available infrastructure for paragliding, tourists may be able to take an aerial view of the sights during the three-to-five minutes flights between Thamidara Village and Reshithang Sports Village in East Sikkim district.
He mentioned that the state tourism department has hired few trained pilots to run paragliding flights and depending on the response from tourists, more pilots will be hired for the purpose. The state tourism department has also developed additional infrastructure for Adventure Tourism in fields like trekking, boating, bungee jumping and mini-rock climbing in Thamidara-Reshithang area near the state capital to woo tourists.
