The Government said the Mobile Number Portability (MNP), which allows a customer to change telecom operator while retaining same number, is likely to be implemented by May-end.
'MNP is expected to be implemented by end of May,' Telecom Minister A Raja told reporters on the sidelines of an event. He said the rolling out of the MNP services was facing hurdles due to security reasons. Earlier, Mr Raja had said the much-awaited MNP would be rolled out in May in the cities of Chennai and Bangalore.
