Mumbai : The rupee appreciated by 20 paise to 46.10 a dollar in the early trade on Feb 22 in line with other firming Asian currencies.
At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the rupee appreciated by 20 paise to 46.10 a dollar. The domestic currency had closed 2 paise lower at 46.30/31 in the previous session on Feb 19.
Forex dealers said rupee gained against the dollar in line with other Asian currencies. Besides, fresh capital inflows by foreign funds into equities also supported the Indian rupee, they added.
Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex rose by 230 points or 1.42 per cent to 16,421.38 in the opening trade on Feb 22.
