 Chennai : South Korean car maker's subsidiary Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) on Feb 22 said it would increase its overseas presence this year by adding ten new markets.
"We started our exports with 20 Santro cars to Nepal in 1999. We have been exporting Santro, i10, i20 and Accent to 110 countries. Now, we have planned to add 10 new markets, starting with Australia" HMIL Managing Director H W Park told reporters here.
The company today shipped around 500 units of i20 range of models to Australia, he said.
According to company executives, the company has been exporting 'Getz' from Hyundai Motor Corporation, Korea to Australia. However, this is the first time that they are exporting i20 range of models from India and planned to export 10,000-15,000 units by year-end, sources said.
