Porbandar : He stands still, his golden frame immobile and glistening in the morning sun even as hundreds hustle and bustle around him on the crowded Chowpatty beach here.
Meet Jayesh Hinglajiya, the multi-coloured Gandhi of Gujarat who is paying a unique tribute to the Mahatma on his 61st death anniversary on Jan 30. Jayesh has been paying a silent tribute to the Father of the Nation for the past many years, covering himself in paint from head to toe and posing as a Gandhi statue at public places. "Gandhi taught us about the beauty of simplicity and his message of peace and love are relevant more than ever in today's time. I am an artiste who is using the medium of paint and my body to keep that message alive," Jayesh said.
