'Erotica...': Learn the art of loving

New Delhi : Renowned sexologist Prakash Kothari is keen to help people express themselves and liberate their inhibited selves through erotica, and has compiled a coffee table book that was released Wednesday.

Titled `Erotica: The art of loving', the book was launched here by writer-diplomat Pavan K. Varma. Talking about the book, Kothari said, "In my 35 years of practice, I have realised that most of our sexual problems arise from a single conflict - an obligation to hide our desires."

He said there were very few people who approach experts for help. "Most continue to suffer silently. Therefore I decided to bring out this book which shares a glimpse of the delights people have in expressing themselves and liberating their inhibited selves through erotica," he added.

The book has numerous pictures of arts and artefacts from across the world and dating back years. Kothari also put up an exhibition of his personal collection of erotica from across the world - one dating back to 5,500 BC. It also showcased miniature paintings, artefacts made of ivory and scrap art.
