Strains of music filled the air at this suburban hotspot as musical brothers Amaan and Ayaan Ali Khan (both looking dashing in sherwanis which they had accessorised with colourful dupattas) celebrated their book on 50 maestros of the music world.
The sarod playing brothers, who represent the seventh generation of the Senia Bangash School of music, have grown up surrounded by music and musicians including Begum Akhtar, Bhimsen Joshi, Enayat Khan, Ravi Shankar, Bismillah Khan, Shiv Kumar Sharma and their own father Amjad Ali Khan. This is their tribute to these masters of Indian Classical music.
Pankaj Udhas, Roopkumar and Sunali Rathod, Adnan Sami, Gino Banks... there were musicians from all genres present here. AD and Sabina Singh added oomph and style to the evening - AD in his melon-coloured linen suit and Sabina wearing a crimson Greek Goddess-inspired dress. The brothers spoke about what inspired them to write the book and shared personal anecdotes about their journey, while the guests listened on, enthused.
