After a gap of more than 14 years Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan returned to perform in the Theatre de la ville, Paris, the Mecca of musicians from all over the world.
Performing to a sold out crowd of over one thousand music aficionados in Paris, Ustad Amjad Khan Sahib was in his element. Accompanied only by a tabla player, Ustad Amjad Khan weaved his magic on sarod and left the enthralled crowd wanting more of ragas. "It's always a pleasure to perform at a world renowned platform. Performing at Paris after 14 years was nostalgic and it felt good. I'm glad I got a second chance to perform at the theatre," said Ustad Amjad Ali Khan.
The audience who witnessed the magical evening at Theatre de la Ville felt the soothing music calmed their souls, even as they entered the theatre. Gladdened by the response to his music Khan Sahib says, "It feels good to perform for a full theatre and an involved audience." Built in the 19th century Theatre de la Ville is known to have produced shows that are considered as a real international achievement. This is Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan's second concert after a gap of 14 years in the theatre which is also known as the Mecca of musicians.
