Mumbai : Air France will introduce a revised baggage policy for customers travelling in Economy Class between US and Europe effective with tickets issued November 1, 2009. Passengers will be able to check one bag, weighing up to 50 pounds (23 kilos), free of charge.
If passengers want to check the second bag, with the same maximum weight allowance, they can get the baggage checked for a fee of USD 50 for all flights departing from US or 50 Euros for all flights departing from Europe. Additionally, the fee for checked bags weighing between 50 and 70 pounds (23 to 32 kilos) will increase from USD 50 or Euros to USD 100 or Euros. Beyond the second checked bag, additional bags of the same maximum weight will be charged USD 200 or Euros (size allowance remains the same). The baggage allowance rules remain the same for those passengers flying in First or Business Class.
The following customers continue to receive a baggage allowance of two checked baggage up to 50 pounds each in Economy Class free of charge:
1. Flying Blue Platinum, Gold and Silver members
2. SkyTeam Elite and Elite Plus Frequent Flyer members
3. Passengers travelling on special Seamans fares
The following customers benefit from a baggage allowance of two checked luggage up to 70 pounds each free of charge:
1. Club 2000 and Skipper members
2. Passengers booked in Air Frances new Premium Voyageur Class
