 Chandigarh: Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister, Haryana announced that Haryana will construct 6,000 rooms as part of preparation for Commonwealth Games to be held in October 2010 and concrete steps will be taken to boost tourism in the state.
He said that Haryana is also high among other states of the country in terms of per capita income. After Goa, the per capita income in Haryana at prevailing rate is Rs 67,891. He said that during the last four years of the present state government, an expenditure of Rs 5,330 crore has been incurred on creating industrial infrastructure.
Hooda further added that Haryana was becoming a hub of education and now it was taking strides in the field of hotel industry also. He said that the state has excelled in agriculture production and due to the hard work of farmers the state has contributed in meeting out food demand of the country. Looking into the contribution of farmers, the year 2009 was being observed as Kisan-Mazdoor Year in the state.
