London: Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles of Bahamas have entered the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon men`s doubles with a 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-0 victory over Prakash Amritraj and Pakistan`s Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi.
However, Bhupathi and Sania Mirza fell to Leander Paes and Clara Black 6-2, 6-7(2), 6-3 later in the day.
This was the second time Bhupathi and Knowles stopped an Indian`s run in men`s doubles. They had earlier beaten Somdev Devvarman and Kevin Anerson.
In the meantime, Roger Federer thrived in 35-degree temperatures to clinch an 11th win in 11 meetings against big-serving Swede Robin Soderling and reach the quarter-finals. In a repeat of the French Open final Federer won 6-4, 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/5) over the man who dramatically ended Rafael Nadal`s Roland Garros reign.
