Varanasi: The three-day festivity of Guru Purnima has started with spiritual fervour at different places in Varanasi on July 6. The main function of Guru Purnima would be held on July 7.
Traditionally, Hindu people residing in the country celebrate the festival of Guru Purnima on the day of full moon in the month of Ashadh of the Hindu calendar. The Gurus are revered on this day by the devotees.
A three-day function started at Sri Sarveshwari Samooh Sansthan Devsthanam, Padao on July 6. Guru Puja and darshan would be done on July 7 while puja and convention would take place on July 8. The functions are also being held at Sri Dharmasangh Shiksha Mandal, Durgakund, Garhwa Ghat Ashram, Krim Kund, Ravindrapuri and other places.
