The Chandigarh Administration is going to start a mega project to set up world class `Aquatic Park` over three acres near the Golf Range in Chandigarh.
It will be developed on Built-Own-Operate (BOO) basis. The main objective of the Park is to promote Ecotourism and educate people about the importance of conserving flora and fauna.
The proposed Aquatic Park will have an education-cum-fish presentation centre with seating capacity for 50 people, souvenir-cum-workshop, cafeteria, public conveniences and other entertainment facilities on the pattern of international Aquatic Parks and landscaping.
The Department of Forest and Wildlife, Chandigarh has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from reputed consulting firms for setting up the Aquatic Park. With regards to the EOI Singh said that the selected consulting firm will assist the department in project structuring, bid process management and preparation of request for proposal (RFP) and agreement for the project."
