Saina Gets Into 18th Place In World Badminton Rankings |

The very talented and one of the most promising badminton players in India, Saina Nehwal has recently achieved a new high in the world ranking as she has cracked the top-20 singles ranking for the first time in her career. Saina is the top women badminton player in India and this is definitely going to give a major boost to her ahead of the upcoming Beijing Olympics in August.
Saina Nehwal is quite busy getting ready for the first ever Olympics Games in her career at the moment and the latest rankings released by the International Badminton Federation on Thursday show that Saina is placed at the 18th place. Saina improved her ranking by three places this time, due to her brilliant performances in the Asian circuit in last month. She defeated a number of top class badminton players of the world during the last month and that came as a great help for her to improve the rankings.
Saina Nehwal`s recent dream run went in for quite a long time and she entered into the semi-final of a Super Series event at the Singapore Open, to become the first Indian women to do so. Saina continued her wonderful form after that and she reached the quarter-final of the at the Thailand Open, where she lost a hardly-fought battle to the top-seed Chinese player, Xie Xingfang. Among the other Indian badminton players, the men`s National Champion of India, Anup Sridhar has got himself into the 31st place in the men`s single`s rankings and the other famous players, Chetan Anand and Arvind Bhat is placed at the 42nd and 43rd place, respectively.
