Mahindra-Renault Planning To Export Logan To Overseas Market

The giant automobile company in the Indian automotive industry, Mahindra-Renault has recently announced that it is planning to export its successful sedan, Logan to the international markets very soon. The officials of the company have stated that they are thinking so as they have already got considerable success with the car in the domestic market in India and they will be starting implementing the export plans very soon.

While talking about the company`s plans for exporting Logan to the international markets, the Chief Operating Officer of Mahindra-Renault Pvt Ltd, Mr. Nalin Mehta said, "We are exploring right-hand drive markets like South Asia, and Africa amongst others to export the Logan. We plan to start exports this year". However, he did not say anything about the quantity of cars that they are planning to export and said that they are still identifying the markets. He added that the company is also having some plans to launch the Logan in the CNG and the LPG variant, in the later half of this year. In his words, "There is a growing demand for gas-based variants and we would make it available in the coming months and in certain cities it would be available earlier".

Mahindra-Renault Planning To Export Logan To Overseas MarketMr. Mehta was also talking about the product expansion plans of the company and said, "We are looking to be a serious player and have plans to be present in more segment". He said that the company sold a number of 25,890 units of the Logan in the last year and took the company`s production to full capacity in the first year of its operations. He added that the plant is having the capacity of ramping up the production further, provide by the market conditions. He further informed that the company is also expanding its dealership network in India to 156 in the current financial year that is up from the present 94 and would expand its presence from the current 94 cities to 136 cities in India.
