Hyundai Increased Domestic Sales By 36.71% In April |

The Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has already established itself as one of the leading automobile companies operating in India and it has made an announcement on Thursday that it has registered a 36.71 per cent jump in its domestic passenger car sales during April. The company officials have informed that the company has sold a number of 21,501 units during the month of April, 2008, in comparison to that of 15,728 units in the corresponding month of the previous year, 2007.
According to one of the top officials of the company, the cumulative sales of the HMIL during the month of April went up by up 47.77 per cent at 40,001 units, inclusive of the exports. The official added that the company did sell a number of 27,069 units during the same month in the previous year. The company has also released an official statement regarding its sales statistics in April and said that the company`s exports for the month was 18,500 units, in comparison to that of 11,341 units during the same month, in the previous year.
The Senior Vice-President (Marketing and Sales) of Hyundai Motors India Ltd, Mr. Arvind Saxena was talking about the matter and said, "HMIL sales for April had been robust with a very healthy growth and we feel that the budget has been a contributory factor". Elaborating the sales statistics of the company, he said that HMIL sold a number of 17,334 units of hatchbacks Santro, Getz and i10, 2,668 units of Accent and Verna, 3 units of Elantra, 50 units of Sonata and 9 units of its SUV during April. He further informed that the newly launched car of the company, `i10` has done extremely well in the market and the company sold a number of over 50,000 units of `i10` during the last six months.
