Sangwan Helped India To Thrash South Africa

The Indian cricket team is showing a very impressive performance in the ongoing Under-19 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur, as it defeat the powerful South Africa by 6 wickets in their match in Group B on Tuesday. The budding and talented left-arm seamer Pardeep Sangwan was the star for India as he got a five-wicket haul to destroy the South African batting line-up. It was for his wonderful performance, the South African innings was restricted to a mere 149 runs and the Indian batsmen easily achieved the target by losing only 4 wickets.

India has got their second win in the tournament and now they have almost assured themselves to get one of the two quarterfinal places from group B. In the match, the South African team decided to bat first and was in big trouble right from the beginning due to Sangwan`s well-controlled bowling. The top order batsmen of South Africa were struggling in front of the bowling of Sangwan and they soon collapsed to 45-5 at a point in their innings. Sangwan picked up all the top order wickets at that point. After being reduced to such a miserable situation, the South African captain, Wayne Parnell (31) and Jonathan Vandiar (53) tried to rescue their team and they put on a partnership of 64 runs for the sixth wicket. However, the partnership could not cause much danger for the Indian team as the young left-arm spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Iqbal Abdullah broke the partnership and also wrapped up the lower half of the South African batting order. South Africa could get only 149 runs.

The Indian captain, Virat Kohli also scored an unbeaten 25 runs to sail his team to the victory land safely in the 42nd over. The young left-arm seamer Sangwan was named the Man of the Match for his brilliant haul of 5-44. At this point of time in the tournament, the Indian team need only one more win to become the topper in their group and it will be facing West Indies in their last match on Friday.
