Ronit Roy To Play Bhishmah In Mahabharat |

One of the most popular actors of the contemporary Indian television industry, Ronit Roy is all set to come with a different kind of character soon as he will play the role of `Bhishmah Pitamah` in Ekta Kapoor`s upcoming serial Mahabharat. The sources related to Ekta Kapoor`s production house Balaji Telefilms are informing that it was Ekta herself who took the decision to cast Ronit Roy as Bhishmah in the serial. The serial is going to come on screen very soon and Mahabharat is also having one of the strongest star-cast ever in an Indian TV serial.
While talking about Ekta Kapoor`s decision of casting Ronit for the role, one of the sources from the production house said, "Ronit Roy has been a favourite of Ekta Kapoor. Their professional relationship goes back a long way. The character of Bhishma Pitamah is the central character in Mahabharat. According to Ekta only Ronit can do justice to the role". The source also said that this mythological serial is going to be a big budget project and Ekta is employing all her strength for making the serial a successful one. In the words of the source, "Ekta Kapoor plans to make the Mahabharat on a massive scale and more opulent than the earlier Mahabharat".
When asked about the comparisons that are going to arouse with the Bhishmah of Mukesh Khanna in BR Chopra`s Mahabharat and Ronit Roy`s Bhishmah in this serial, the source replied, "Comparisons will be inevitable but Ronit will do his research and also interpret the character as written in the script. Ronit is completely charged to portray the character of Bhishmah Pitamah". However, when Ronit Roy was contacted, he denied to reveal anything about the matter and asked to wait for the official announcement from Ekta Kapoor. He said, "I would not like to comment on anything right now. We should wait for Ekta to make the formal announcement". Ekta Kapoor could not be contacted to make any comment on this.
